Last week we looked at how to cancel subscriptions on Apple devices, but how do you complete the same task on Android devices through Google Play?
Well, the process is similar but due to the different software it will look different. Maybe you are feeling a subscription isn't providing the experience you are looking for anymore or perhaps a streaming service isn't providing the content you enjoy. In this case, it is possibly time to think about cancelling your subscription.
Cancelling a subscription through Google Play is a simple and quick process. Follow the steps below to find out how!
Launch your Google Play Store app on your Android device.
Tap your profile button (usually located in the top right hand corner of your screen).
Tap on 'Payments and Subscriptions' before selecting 'Subscriptions'.
Find the subscription you are wanting to cancel and select it by tapping.
Select 'Cancel Subscription' and follow the prompts that are given
Sometimes it may ask for a cancellation reason which you can either select an option or type in something different. Once you have done this, simple tap 'Continue' and then confirm by selecting 'Cancel Subscription'.
It is important to note that before starting the cancellation process, you must ensure that you are logged into the Google Play Store account. If you are not, the subscription you wish to cancel will not appear in the list.
After canceling the subscription, you will still be able to benefit from it until the current billing period ends. You’ll still be able to use the app for the period you paid. That applies to monthly and yearly subscriptions. For example, if you get an annual yearly subscription in December 2020, then cancel a month after, you can benefit from the subscription until December 2021.
