My Device is draining battery quicker than expected, what can I do?
If your device seems to be draining power quicker than you expected, or in comparison to a previous device that you have owned, you may need to recalibrate the battery by performing a factory reset on your device.
A factory reset will remove all content and settings from the device and restore the phone to its original setup. This can be very beneficial to remove software bugs and will help with connectivity or battery issues by setting up the phone as new and recalibrating the various components of the device.
Before factory resetting your device you will want to backup all of your information either to your Google or Samsung Account via the settings menu. This will mean that when you log into your account, you will be able to pull all of your backed up information such as photos, contacts and applications back onto your device.
To factory reset your device please go to Settings -> Backup and Reset -> Factory Data Reset.
After this has been completed we recommend that you then leave the device on charge and let this get to 100% before setup and use. The device will need to be setup from scratch, but this process will only take a few minutes.
If you were still experiencing trouble, it is very likely that we can help further if you were to reach out to us via email! In this email if you could include a screenshot of your battery usage information that would be ideal! In order to find this please follow these steps:
Settings -> Device Management -> Battery -> Battery Usage.
Here you will find a graph of the usage, and also a list of applications and tasks with how they are affecting the battery. This information is key to ensure that we are able to give you advise and help based specifically on what is causing your issue!
